CODEE is organizing a workshop in conjunction with the MAA on innovations in the teaching and learning of differential equations, to take place in Claremont, June 3-7, 2013.
DSWeb announces a competition for educational materials on dynamical systems and their applications. Three winners will be chosen and will be awarded $1,000 each. Entries due by April 1, 2013.
Edward Early (St. Edwards University) created the winning design for this year’s MAA T-shirt contest. His design pictured below, shows a continuous vector field on a sphere with both stable and unstable critical points, characterizing a book that rotates smoothly around its short and long axes but wobbles around its middle axis. Congratulations, Edward!
The new t-shirt will be on sale at the MAA Math Fest.
“Differential Equations Across the Collegiate Curriculum” is a conference in honor of Paul Blanchard's 60th birthday, and will explore the ongoing changes in the teaching of differential equations at liberal arts institutions, engineering programs, and across the higher education spectrum.
